Core Beliefs
We are a theologically conservative church family within the Reformed tradition. Basically, that means we believe the Bible is God's Word, its Truth is timeless, and it has authority over our lives. Our understanding of the Bible is shaped by historical documents such as the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Heidelberg Catechism. Below are some of our key biblical beliefs.
Your existence is not an accident. Our universe was created by God, for His purpose and His glory.
Your life matters. All people are created in God's image, making each human life sacred.
God is perfect in every way. He is loving and merciful, as well as holy and just.
God exists as Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God came to our world to save us. Jesus is the Son of God who died on a cross as a substitute for our sins. We are saved from the penalty, power, and presence of sin by God's grace.
Eternal life is a reality. Jesus' resurrection from the grave is an actual historical event that opened the door to eternal life for all who believe in Him.
We all need Jesus. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only pathway given to humanity for salvation.
Faith in Jesus is not just an idea to agree with. Faith means trusting Jesus in such a way that we no longer live for ourselves, but for Him above all else.
We don't just believe in Good News, we are Good News. We are commanded to joyfully serve the world while demonstrating God's love and kindness to all people.
There is no such thing as a solitary Christian. Following Jesus in a meaningful way can only be done as an active member of a community of faith.
We need to be alert and live purposefully for Christ. Jesus is coming again to bring salvation and judgment.
