Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."
Matthew 19:14
We believe God is actively working in the lives of children as much as anyone and we place a high priority on discipling them. We believe that happens most effectively in the context of family ministry - children and parents growing in their faith together. At First Reformed Church we worship together as a whole community (all ages). Following the worship service we have our Sunday Morning Equipping Hour, a Sunday School experience that parents and children (up to 6th grade) can attend together. The focus of this time is on equipping parents to more effectively disciple their children. We also host an Awana program on Wednesday evenings during the school year for kids 3 years old - 6th grade.

Children in worship
Children are encouraged to attend and participate in our 9:30am worship service with the rest of our church community. Nursery care (through 4 years old) is available for those who need it. We also have a quiet Family Room located directly above the Sanctuary that can be accessed through the northwest stairwell. A recorded version of the sermon will be streamed in the upstairs Fireside Room for children who may struggle to sit quietly through the entire sermon. Children and parents who wish to utilize this room will be dismissed after the opening worship songs.

Awana Club
Wednesdays 6-7:45pm (September - April)
Awana is a kids club for boys and girls 3 years old - 6th grade where children have the opportunity to memorize, study, and learn life lessons from important passages of the Bible to help them grow spiritually, as well as having a blast with exciting games and activities.
